PDX Teen Film Collective

Published on March th, 2011

In 2011, The Hollywood Theatre responded to the desires of our summer students and launched year round programming for young filmmakers.  Currently, we are excited to announce the launch of a new partnership with Grant High School’s Film & Literature class that will give students the opportunity for hands-on exploration of narrative, film, and story construction.

The PDX Teen Filmmaking Collective allows PYD alumni a chance to deepen their filmmaking knowledge via personal projects and productions led by Theatre staff in partnership with various community organizations. The Hollywood Theatre connects Collective participants teens with touring filmmakers and organizes mentorships and internships with local professional filmmakers.

The Collective has recently completed a short PSA for Providence’s school outreach program on cancer awareness, with an emphasis on reaching diverse populations.
