The First Oscars Film Series presented in partnership with the Columbia River Theater Organ Society takes off in February with Wings. This classic tale of  love, war and friendship will feature live accompaniment on the theater organ by Donna Parker.

Wings won the first Academy Award for Best Picture in 1929 and is the only silent film to have ever received the honor.

Jack and David are two small town rivals fighting for the love of one sensational beauty. Enlisted as fighter pilots during World War I they soon find themselves becoming friends. Wings, directed by William A. Wellman stars Clara Bow, Charles Rogers and Richard Arlen. Gary Cooper appears in a role, which helped launch his career in Hollywood, and ironically, out of all the lead performers in the film, it was Gary Cooper’s supporting role, which would shoot him to stardom.
