The Hollywood Theatre Presents: Future Cinema at TBA Fest

September 11th at 10:30pm I $7

THE WORKS at Washington High School I SE Stark and 13th

Check your boredom at the megaplex. The Hollywood Theatre brings you mind-melting performances and videos from a group of women on the verge of a nervous breakdown, brand new work from Weston Currie and Liz Harris (Grouper), and a “Butthorn”- fueled B Movie Bingo with Gary Busey’s ghost and Wolf Choir.

10:30pm – TERRIFYING WOMEN: videos and performances by current and past Portland artists Alicia McDaid, Tanya Smith, Wendy Haynes, Sarah Johnson, Diana Joy, Kathleen Keogh, and Angela Fair. It’s the Vagina Monologues on nitrous oxide wearing strap-on penises. Don’t be scared, be terrified.

11:45pm – Weston Currie, director of “The Perception of Moving Targets,” (official Sundance selection 2012) premieres a new film threaded together by an aural narrative of metonymous ambiance, with soundtrack recorded by Liz Harris (Grouper).

12:30am – Wolf Choir presents B Movie Bingo: BULLETPROOF. Gary Busey stars as Frank “I’M YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE, BUTTHORN!” McBain, an ex-military virtuoso who has “retired” into police work. Play bingo using the most awesome movie clichés ever committed to celluloid, like: “LONG BORING SCENE OR MALE PONY TALE,” “TEAMED UP WITH ROOKIE OR ANIMAL,” and “WHITE SUIT OR TROPICAL ENDING.” Cross out the squares as the insanity unfolds on screen!
