The Hollywood Theatre, in conjunction with Poler Camping Stuff, present two awesome skateboarding films in one jam packed night.  ”Harvey Spannos” is a short film about a young boy’s discovery that his deceased father, a professional skateboarder in 1970, died in a tragic accident trying to ollie a shark pit. Harvey was entered into a short film contest for FUEL TV and won first prize, providing funds to produce the feature length “Machotaildrop.”

“Machotaildrop” is a highly visual and fantastical journey about an amateur skateboarder, Walter Rhum, who realizes his dream of turning pro and riding for the world’s greatest skateboard company.  Cultural critique blog FecalFace had this to say: ”Corey Adams and Alex Craig have created a satirical indictment of our logo-laden, consumerist culture … take 1971′s Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, set it at the enigmatic headquarters of the world’s most famous skateboard conglomerate, imbue it with the off-kilter humour of Wes Anderson and the fantastical surrealism of Terry Gilliam and Michel Gondry, and you have Machotaildrop.”
