Seven Samurai (1954) A poor village under attack by bandits recruits seven unemployed samurai to help them defend themselves. Starring Toshiro Mifune and Takashi Shimura. Widely considered one of the greatest films ever made, this movie is the inspiration for John Sturges’ The Magnificent Seven.
