The Grindhouse Film Festival presents an extremely rare 35mm print of the existential action classic VANISHING POINT. Advance tickets are strongly recommended!
VANISHING POINT (1971): A car delivery driver named Kowalski bets that he can deliver a 1970 Dodge Challenger from Colorado to San Francisco in less than 15 hours. After a few run-ins with motorcycle cops, the highway patrol begins a massive chase to bring him into custody. Kowalski hops up on speed, puts the pedal to the metal, and one of the most incredible car chases in cinema history begins. All the while he’s guided by blind radio DJ “Supersoul,” who labels Kowalski “the last great American hero.” This is one of the best American films of the 1970s, not to be missed in this rare big screen appearance.
