COVID-19 Protocols

UPDATE 3/25/22:

The Hollywood Theatre will no longer be requiring masks for entry. The Oregon Health Authority still recommends masking for people at higher risk from COVID-19, including unvaccinated people and immunocompromised people.

In addition, we will also be removing mandatory COVID-19 vaccine requirements as a condition of entry.

While vaccines do not prevent individuals from contracting COVID, they are proven to be effective in greatly reducing the risk of severe illness, speeding up recovery and reducing downtime. We strongly recommend our guests be vaccinated and up to date on boosters and evaluate their own health situation prior to attending an event. We will continue to monitor the CDC, state, and local guidance to set our policies.

Some artists and events may have specific policies that ticket holders must adhere to. Please check each event description for all additional policies that may take place.

UPDATE 3/11/22:

Even though the state indoor mask mandate is being lifted on March 12, the Hollywood (along with our community partners at Cinema 21, Living Room Theaters, the Academy Theater, and the Laurelhurst Theater) will continue to require masks and proof of vaccination through Thursday, March 24.

As theaters and performance venues were some of the last businesses able to fully reopen last year, we want to use the same amount of caution in dropping our requirements and take a little more time in order to protect our audiences and our staff.

After we lift mask and vaccine requirements, we will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our policies as needed. We still encourage everyone who can to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Additionally, the Oregon Health Authority still recommends masking for people at higher risk from COVID-19, including unvaccinated people and immunocompromised people. Anyone who wants to continue wearing a mask is welcome to do so in our theatre.

The Hollywood (along with Academy Theater, Cinema 21, Cinemagic, Laurelhurst Theater, Living Room Theaters, and Broadway Metro in Eugene) will be requiring proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination (or a negative test result) prior to entry.

We will accept any of the following:

  • your physical card verifying full vaccination
  • a clear, legible photo of your vaccination card
  • a digital vaccination record
  • a negative result from a COVID-19 test (PCR only; test must have been taken within 72 hours)
You may also be asked to show your photo ID along with proof of vaccination.

Children who cannot yet be vaccinated may attend accompanied by a fully-vaccinated adult.

If you arrive at the theatre without proof of vaccination, you will be denied entry. Refunds can be issued by emailing info@hollywoodtheatre.org with your name, time/date of screening, and Hollywood member number if applicable.

If you are experiencing any symptoms, please stay home. We will happily refund your tickets, and you can begin that process by emailing info@hollywoodtheatre.org.

In addition, masks are required for all audience members in the building, including in your seat when not actively eating or drinking.

We've also upgraded the filtration in our HVAC systems.

As a community-based organization, requiring proof of vaccination is the right step to protect our audiences and staff. We believe steps like these are vital to the ongoing survival of the Hollywood and other theaters. In order to feel comfortable returning to theaters in pre-pandemic numbers, audiences need to feel safe going to the movies and to know that their health and well-being is being prioritized.

We can't wait to see you back at the Hollywood!
