A Self-Made Man

A Self-Made Man { 56 MIN / USA } DIR: Lori Petchers
A candid look at what it means to be transgender, told through an intimate portrait of trans youth advocate Tony Ferraiolo. As Tony comes to terms with all the complexities of his own life as a female-to-male transgender person, his story is echoed by the kids in the youth group and their parents as they grapple with the reality of their uncertain future. This is a story about someone who helps them get there safely. | Director in Attendance | Website

Practical Things { 5 MIN / USA } DIR: Lindy Baustedt
First love, super glue and Robert Frost.

Memory of a Butterfly { 10 MIN / USA } DIR: Tin Lee
A love story between two young women set against the backdrop of Chinese Opera, specifically at a rehearsal space in San Francisco's Chinatown. Mei is Chinese American, seen only in her Chinese Opera makeup; she seems to exist in a timeless space. Nina is Caucasian, a modern California girl. Together, they feel they can take on the world; separate, they feel lost and aimless.
