“What the hell is a Dim Mak?”
The man, the myth, the Belgian: Jean-Claude Van Damme graces Hecklevision with possibly his crowning achievement, the 1988 martial-arts cult classic, BLOODSPORT. Produced by the legendary Golan-Globus, who were responsible for most of the selections worth your time on 1980s video store shelves, BLOODSPORT combines uncompromisingly brutal fight scenes with unabashedly bad acting.
Ray Jackson and Bolo Yeung co-star as fighting game characters before their time, one JCVD’s friend, the other his toughest rival. Supposedly based on a true story, BLOODSPORT is at the very least the perfect B-movie example of a 12-year-old kid’s Mountain Dew-influenced hyperactive dream of going from gawky teenage kid to ninja badass.
If you’re old enough to enjoy a beer while watching Jean-Claude do the splits on the big screen, you’ve probably seen BLOODSPORT plenty of times - so you know just how important it is to honor our invitation to Hecklevision for one of the greatest films ever!
This special screening is presented in HECKLEVISION: Through the magic of MuVChat technology, your jokes, heckles and commentary are encouraged - in TEXT form!
