As we know from Nabil Ayouch’s previous two films, ALI ZAOUA and HORSES OF GOD, shown at CFAF in 2004 and 2015 respectively, we are again treated to wonderful cinema from a skilled storyteller. The streets of Casablanca provide the centerpiece for five complex narratives from varying time periods that all collide into one.We see layers of Moroccan society unfold in each tale, challenging mores of family, job, religion, traditional culture, and modern life.
