Ghost Dog in 35mm

Series: Portland Black Film Festival

A 35mm print of the 1999 Jim Jarmusch cult classic GHOST DOG: WAY OF THE SAMURAI!

Jarmusch combined his love for the crime dramas of Jean-Pierre Melville with the philosophies of samurai mythology for this ice-cool take on the hitman thriller. Forest Whitaker plays a Zen contract killer who adheres to the strict ideals of the Japanese warrior code, as he pulls hits for the mafia. Featuring moody cinematography by the great Robby Muller, an excellent score by the RZA , and a host of colorful character actors (including a stone-faced Henry Silva).
