The Grindhouse Film Festival
presents a rare 35mm print of this action-packed exploitation classic. Advance tickets are strongly recommended.
MARY, CRAZY LARRY (1974) Larry (Peter Fonda) is a cocky, expert
driver, and Deke (Adam Rourke) is his mechanic. They rob a grocery
store, with a plan to use the money to buy an expensive race car. The plan
runs smoothly for the robbery, but falls apart during the getaway, when
local girl Mary (Susan George) forces the thieves to take her along for
the ride. Larry hits the gas on their souped-up Dodge Charger, and
attempts to outrace every cop in the state in a non-stop adrenaline
fueled car chase that lasts for the rest of the movie. In the spirit of
VANISHING POINT, this is another high-speed existential 70's classic.
