International Spectacular #3 2017

Series: Northwest Animation Festival

This year's NW Animation Fest concludes with an explosive cabaret of cartoons, digital delights, and show-stopping stop-motion. Selected from a pool of over 1100 submissions, you can trust that we've saved a few of our most favorite films for the big finale.

Here's some of what you'll see on Sunday night: An arctic hunter steals a woman's ability to transform back into a seal, but her eyes will always be on the sea. A hilariously self-referential mockumentary follows a team of pretentious art students as they set out to create the "ultimate animated film" — and then descend into madness. Resistance fighters disguise themselves as kitchen staff, serving up haute cuisine and cold revenge to their evil insect overlords. Following a freak lawnmower accident, a young woman wakes up in the hospital with an enormous and beastly new leg that seems to have a mind of its own. An astronaut's glove lost during the Gemini IV space mission floats gently outward into the solar system... Where will it finally end up?
