Series: The Portland EcoFilm Festival

Join the Portland EcoFilm in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day with a weekend of environmental films!

MICROCOSMOS transports viewers into hidden, dramatic lives of insects and invertebrates found in a French countryside meadow and pond. Filmed over three years and released in 1996 at the Cannes Film Festival, the film became a worldwide hit for its incredible sequences of dueling beetles, amorous snails and many other beautiful and bizarre characters of the insect kingdom. Panel discussion with the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation follows the film.
