This 16mm program is presented by film archivist Dennis Nyback.
Gang short subjects were made by Hal Roach starting in 1922, In the
50’s they were repackaged for television under the title Little Rascals.
Different groups of children were used as they aged out. This programs
includes shorts from both the silent era group and the Depression era
group. It will start with a newsreel made in the thirties uniting the
two groups. Shorts featured will be The Kid From Borneo (1933), Washee
Ironee (1934), Pay as You Exit (1936) and more.
