LA NIÑA DE TACONES AMARILLOS (THE GIRL IN YELLOW HEELS)
Directed by Lujan Loioco / Argentina / 74 minutes
LA NIÑA DE TACONES AMARILLOS follows 15-year-old Isabel as she experiences a clash of cultures brought on by the construction of a large hotel in her small town. Working on the premises with her mother, Isabel slowly realizes that she has become an object of men's attraction, and feels the unspoken power in her beauty. Eventually, Isabel learns to use her seduction to obtain the things she wants, which results in unforeseen consequences and family quarrels. Isabel's new-found power will take her along unknown paths, where the value of her beauty is nothing but the flipside of her submission to a sexist eye.
