Putney Swope

Most screenings are currently at 75% capacity. Some screenings will be at 100% and, if so, the page for that event will note that. Concessions will be available. Masks will be required while in all common areas like the lobby or the restrooms, but not in your seats.

A tribute to Robert Downey Sr. (1936-2021) with a digital restoration of his 1969 counterculture classic.

Putney Swope, the only black executive at his firm, is unexpectedly elected its president and turns the advertising industry on its ear through a series of outrageous, taboo-busting TV commercials (strewn throughout the film like comedic landmines.) He renames the company "Truth and Soul", keeps one token white employee, and becomes a "threat" to national security. This film takes no prisoners with its ferocious satire, and skewers the entire political spectrum.
