For the January screening of Represent!, films by & about people of color, we'll be watching the rock and roll classic that helped define the '80's, PURPLE RAIN (1984). Starring Prince & the Revolution, The Time, and Apollonia 6, this is the story of a young talent struggling to overcome his demons, keep his band together, and hold on to his new girlfriend. This movie practically overflows with great songs, amazing fashion, and surprisingly decent performances by first-time actors.
