Debuting in early October at Lincoln Center as part of the New York Film Festival, this Rin Tin Tin themed evening will include a reading by Susan Orlean from her new book Rin Tin Tin: The Life and the Legend, followed by a screening of Rin Tin Tin’s greatest silent film, “Clash of the Wolves.” Susan will be available for a Q+A after the film and to sign books at the end of the program.

About the book Rin Tin Tin: The Life and the Legend , is the story of the great dog actor’s journey from his birth in 1918 on a WWI battlefield to his Hollywood career and beyond. In all, Rin Tin Tin and his descendents have figured in almost one hundred years of popular culture. Her book tells the story of the character’s endurance and the emotional narrative of the people who have been devoted to that legacy, as well as exploring the extraordinary bond we have with animals and the role they play in our society.
