Stand By Me

This film plays as part of our "Stephen King 75th Birthday Film Series." In honor of the man's platinum birthday, we'll be raffling off a 1st edition book to one lucky moviegoer at each screening!

In the summer of 1959, four boys living in Castle Rock, Maine hear that missing local boy Ray Brower's body is lost in the woods. In the hopes of becoming heroes (alongside the morbid fascination of seeing a dead body), they embark upon a long hike to find it. Along the way, they learn much about themselves, each other, and what it means to grow up.

Featuring strong early performances by Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell, and Kiefer Sutherland, this film, directed by Rob Reiner ( Misery ), is a classic coming-of-age tale from the novella featured in Stephen King's Different Seasons.
