Wyrd War rides again with a rare big screen presentation of the amazing cult Australian biker masterpiece STONE (1974)!
When members of the free-wheelin’ outlaw motorcycle gang the Gravediggers begin to be murdered one by one under mysterious circumstances, Detective Stone is assigned to go undercover and run with the pack to stop the killing. Leaving his girlfriend and the polite world of straight citizenship behind, Stone must contend with conflicting loyalties as he becomes immersed in the bizarre rites and rituals of an unlikely renegade brotherhood that exists on the farthest fringes of society.
Featuring a stellar cast of stuntmen and ruggedly authentic character actors - including Hugh Keays-Byrne as "Toad," the unmistakable bald badass Roger Ward as "Hooks" and Vincent Gil as the satanic shaman "Dr. Death" - who would go on to star in such Ozploitation classics as THE MAN FROM HONG KONG (1975), MAD MAX (1979), THE ROAD WARRIOR (1981) and TURKEY SHOOT (1980), STONE boasts outrageous motorcycle stunts and an unexpectedly sympathetic portrayal of the controversial 1% biker lifestyle. Billy Green’s electrifying hard rocking score, and his cameo appearance as the gang member known only as "69," elevate the gritty proceedings to such heights that Quentin Tarantino has boldly declared STONE to be “the best Aussie exploitation film!” Stone is a trip. Take the trip.
