Meet the brewers, 6:00-7:00pm
If you’re old enough to watch these films at the Hollywood, then we you’re already a fan of the Terminator series. Cyborgs, time travel, Ahnold, and some of the best action ever committed to celluloid. See it like God intended, on glorious 35mm, projected on a 50' screen while drinking a delicious beer inspired by the series, as curated by Lompoc Brewing.
list of Sci Fi IPAS on tap:
Prime Directive IPA
The first IPA in Lompoc’s sci-fi series, this bright, well balanced IPA pays homage to Star Fleet’s General Order #1. In the Star Trek Universe, the Prime Directive is the guiding principle for all of Star Fleet. Guided by Columbian and Centennial hops, this IPA boasts a deep gold color, mild bitterness and notes of grapefruit and bubblegum. It’s refreshing enough for Kirk, Picard, Sisko, or even Janeway and Archer. Enjoy, and “engage!”
Ryes of the Machines IPA
Sarah Connor and the Terminator never saw this one coming. The second beer in our sci-fi series is this deliciously spicy rye-p-a. Golden in color and crystal clear, it will terminate your apprehension for rye beer. 17% malted and flaked rye, along with Centennial, Simcoe, Perle, and Crystal hops provide a wonderful balance of spice, bitterness, and citrus tones. “Rye’ll be back.”
Calling All Monsters IPA
A collaboration with longtime beer writer for the Oregonian, John Foyston. Just as Godzilla called on Monthra, Rodan, and Minya in the 1968 monster film, we called on all the monster hops we had at our disposal to come up with this intensely hopped, 3rd installment in our sci-fi IPA series. Over 30 pounds of seven hop varieties, including Galaxy, CTZ, and Crystal, contribute a full, piney hop character and sustained bitterness in this beer. Hints of the caramel, melanoidin, and flaked barley malts help fill out the body, while leaving the hops to do the talking (or roaring!). A bright and clear amber appearance round out this IPA that would likely send Godzilla and his monster friends running.
The fourth in Lompoc’s Sci Fi IPA series, a collaboration with Ben Flerchinger of Lucky Labrador, is dedicated to Dr. Who. It’s deep yellow in color and light in body, showcasing the aroma and flavor of Meridian hops. We used our sonic screwdriver to unlock scents of sweet lemon and late summer berries, along with subtle caramel flavors. Shall we have another? “Allons-y, Alonso!”
Electric Sheep IPA
The fifth in Lompoc’s Sci Fi IPA series, the movie Blade Runner was based off of Phillip K Dicks novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Bright amber in color with a citrus and tropical fruit aroma and flavor. There is a slightly resinous and piney hop bitterness.
The sixth in Lompoc’s Sci Fi IPA series, a collaboration with Abe Goldman-Armstrong. An orange colour like the skies of Gallifrey, this wheat IPA is brewed with Belgian Caramel Vienna Malt andMeridian, Crystal and Galaxy hops. A soft nebulous fruity aroma of mango, stonefruit and strawberry with soft malty undertones. Brewed according to the ancient Time Lord techniques, once thought lost, the robust bitterness of this wheat IPA will defeat an army of Daleks and have you home in time for tea.
