A former Imperial Russian general and cousin of the Czar (Jannings) ends up in Hollywood as an extra in a movie directed by a former adversary (William Powell).

Directed by the renowned Josef von Sternberg, the film is a masterpiece of cinematography, grandly designed sets, special effects, and rousing Russian Revolution sequences.

Jonas Nordwall will be performing his original score live on the mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ.
