The Manitou in 35mm

Series: Horror and Indigeneity

In this bananas reimagining of a captivity narrative, an unlucky Karen (Susan Strasberg) discovers that the fetus of an ancient shaman named Misquamascus is gestating in the large, fast-growing tumor on her neck. Harry Erksine (Tony Curtis), a hapless fortune teller and self-confessed fraudster, teams up with a ‘Native American medicine man’ named Singing Rock (Michael Ansara) to defeat the vengeful Misquamascus and his army of eldritch monstrosities.
