On Wednesday April 24th at 7:30pm, a 35mm print of The Outfit. This film is part of Polyester Pulp: The 70's Crime Series.
The Outfit (1973) Based on the Richard Stark pulp novel, this is an unofficial follow up to John Boorman’s Point Blank, with Robert Duvall taking over for Lee Marvin. Duvall stars as a hard-boiled criminal who is released from prison, and learns that his bank-robber brother was killed by mobsters. He demands reparation from the mob, and just like Lee Marvin in Point Blank , he won’t take no for an answer. He teams up with a buddy (Joe Don Baker) and an over-sexed moll (Karen Black), and starts smashing his way through the syndicate to get what he claims he is owed. Co-starring Timothy Carey and the great Robert Ryan, and directed by John Flynn (Rolling Thunder)
