When a pair of London siblings, played by Ray Milland and Ruth Hussey, buy an ominous cliffside mansion for a suspiciously low price, they are plunged into a family’s mysterious and dangerous legacy. One of the great Hollywood chillers, THE UNINVITED has attained a rabid cult following over the decades for its singular mix of tragedy, scares, and gothic romance. This moody and influential film was one of the first to treat the supernatural seriously, playing ghosts and hauntings as a frightening reality, as opposed to fodder or tricks for comedy.
