Laura lives in Buenos Aires with her stepfather, Fredo. When she was only a little girl, she and her mother left the Basque Country, after allegedly being abandoned by her father. One day she receives a call from Spain-her father's body has just been found buried in a nearby wood. The forensic evidence is crystal clear: Félix Careaga died over 30 years ago from a shot on his back. Laura decides to travel to Spain with Fredo to bury her father and to fulfil her mother's wish to spread her ashes in her native land. During the trip, they meet an insurance agent who informs Laura about the existence of a life insurance policy signed by her father. The three of them will embark on a peculiar investigation to discover who took Félix Careaga's life.
Laura vive en Buenos Aires con su padrastro, Fredo. Siendo tan sólo una niña, ella y su madre se marchan del País Vasco, tras supuestamente ser abandonadas por su padre. Un día recibe una llamada desde España: el cuerpo de su padre acaba de ser encontrado bajo tierra en un bosque cercano. Las pruebas forenses han sido claras:
Félix Careaga murió hace más de 30 años asesinado de un disparo en la nuca. Laura decide viajar a España junto a Fredo a enterrar a su padre y cumplir el deseo de su madre de esparcir sus cenizas en su tierra natal. En su viaje conocerán a un agente de seguros que comunica a Laura la existencia de un seguro de vida firmado por su padre. Los tres emprenderán una particular investigación para descubrir quién acabó con la vida de Félix Careaga
