An Evening With Jack Perez: The Sinister Cinema Story

Jack Perez has been directing movies in Hollywood for 30 years. His credits include the pilot for XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, SOME GUY WHO KILLS PEOPLE, WILD THINGS 2, AMERICA’S DEADLIEST HOME VIDEO, MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS, LA CUCARACHA, THE BIG EMPTY and MTV’s MONSTER ISLAND.  Perez’s new project, THE SINISTER CINEMA STORY, is a documentary that takes you behind the scenes of the oldest, weirdest video distributor of sci-fi, fantasy, horror and exploitation cinema, which has been operating out of Medford, Oregon since the late 80s.

In this class, we’ll screen THE SINISTER CINEMA STORY and Perez will expand on how his work and creative process led him to this labor of cinematic love.

This class will be taught by Jack Perez, filmmaker and professor of film since 2009, instructing at USC, PCC, CCC, The NY Film Academy, and The Academy of Art in SF.  He is also the creator of the popular YouTube Premium Channel, CINEFIX. Jack currently lives in Portland with his wife and 4 cats.

Class size will be limited to 18.
