BEATRIZ AT DINNER

BEATRIZ AT DINNER
Thank God It's Queer turns to the mind of out queer filmmaker Mike White (THE WHITE LOTUS) this Inauguration Day! Written for Salma Hayek by Mike White and directed by Miguel Arteta (CHUCK & BUCK, THE GOOD GIRL), BEATRIZ AT DINNER (2017) stars Hayek as Beatriz, a working-class masseuse and immigrant, who is invited by affluent client Kathy (Connie Britton) to stay for dinner after her car breaks down. As the guests arrive and wine flows, Beatriz finds herself in an escalating war of words with Doug Strutt (John Lithgow) a ruthless real estate mogul who cares more about money than people. Co-starring Chloë Sevigny and John Early, BEATRIZ AT DINNER—like all of White's work—is awkward, hilarious, enraging, and inspiring, and was lauded as the first great film of the Trump era.
