EVERYBODY LOVES TOUDA

Join us for opening night of the 2025 Cascade Festival of African Films!

Touda, a Moroccan Sheikha, dreams of restoring the legacy of female singers and providing a better life for her deaf son. Performing in bars under male scrutiny, she endures humiliation but remains resolute in her pursuit of art and dignity. With stunning acting by Nisrin Erradi, the film explores passion, persistence, and societal challenges, while offering moments of tenderness through Touda’s relationships. A nuanced portrayal of a woman’s journey against violence, poverty, and cultural stereotypes.
