The
Grindhouse Film Festival presents a rare 35mm print of the
blaxploitation classic for its 50th anniversary!
Foul-mouthed nightclub entertainer Rudy Ray Moore stars as Dolemite, a mythical pimp/spoken word artist/street avenger who's been doing time for a crime he didn't commit. When he's released from jail, he's out to find Willie Green, who framed him and took over his nightclub. Between rappin on the street corner, making the ladies swoon, and breaking bones with his (awful) karate, Dolemite learns that Willie Green is involved with crooked city officials. Backed by an all-female karate assassin squad, Dolemite sets his sights on Willie Green and his no-good comrades, and pimp slaps every racist honky cop that tries to get in his way.
