Heartfelt is a program of short, autobiographical and experimental films by artists and filmmakers currently living in Oregon and Washington, along with the film, Home Movies Gaza by Basma Alsharif (2013), a nomadic artist born to Palestinian parents, currently based in Germany. Artists in this program boldly explore their own daily life activities, turning a critical and curious lens on the interior and exterior spaces they inhabit. Films take a sensitive look at love and loss, family and heritage. The screening includes recent work by Zoë Gamell Brown, Melina Kiyomi Coumas, Chloë D'Hooge, Carl Diehl, Lily King, Jordan Shelby, and Jalen Thompson. Several filmmakers will be in attendance. Portland filmmaker and program curator Julie Perini will facilitate a discussion among the artists.
Assistive listening devices for audio enhancement are available from our Box Office for any film (excluding live introductions/music/Q&A portions of a given event).
