LES BLANK CELEBRATION: BURDEN OF DREAMS

LES BLANK CELEBRATION: BURDEN OF DREAMS

Join us for the 11th annual LES BLANK CELEBRATION with a brand new 4K restoration of his award-winning film BURDEN OF DREAMS!

BURDEN OF DREAMS is the riveting account of the near-disastrous production of director Werner Herzog’s FITZCARRALDO, which traces the story of one man’s attempt to pull a steamship over a mountain in order to build an opera house deep in the Amazon jungle. The critically-acclaimed, BAFTA-winning documentary has endured as a fascinating and controversial record of the filmmaking process and a unique look into the mind of one of cinema’s most idiosyncratic and fearless directors.

In his prolific 50-year career, Les Blank (1935 - 2013) chronicled American life, exotic foods, eccentric artists, amazing musicians, garlic-lovers, and gap-toothed women.
