After the failure of his Hollywood comedy film, GET TO KNOW YOUR RABBIT, Brian De Palma returned to New York to make his next film without any interference from studios. That film was SISTERS, which highlights a pivotal point in De Palma’s career where he expanded his unique stylistic vision and filmmaking techniques to encompass elements of voyeurism and psychological horror while clearly paying homage to classic films such as REAR WINDOW, ROPE, and ROSEMARY’S BABY.
