Amy, a writer, heralded to be “the next Steven King”, returns to her autumnal themed home town of Autumnboro (we’re not making this up) to care for her grandfather played by legendary character actor Michael Ironside. Forget his roles in SCANNERS (1981), STARSHIP TROOPERS (1997), and TOTAL RECALL (1990), this Ironside runs a pumpkin-themed shop called Pumpkin Everything and you better be sure… he wants his granddaughter to run it!
This class will explore Hallmark's connection to the horror genre and how catharsis can be found in the most formulaic and uncanny of places. Hot cocoa and apple cider will be available for those in attendance as well as a raffle for an absolutely enormous cozy blanket that can be used for comfortably sobbing in.
This class will be taught by MMU lead instructor Kia Anne Geraths, a filmmaker and educator. Her previous classes include the Cult Horror series, WTF Was That?!, and Ken Russell: Controversies.
Class size will be limited to 18.
