Women in Love

Women in Love

Controversy and acclaim, intimacy and secrets, WOMEN IN LOVE (1969, 131 min) is filled to the brim with dichotomy, both in front of and behind the camera. In this single session course we’ll take a look at this work from director Ken Russell (THE DEVILS, ALTERED STATES, THE BOYFRIEND) and how he went about creating a cinematic version of this polarizing classic of literature.

This class will be taught by MMU lead instructor Kia Anne Geraths, a filmmaker and educator. Her previous classes include the Cult Horror series, Ken Russell: Controversies, and The Literary Films of David Cronenberg.

The class will begin with a short lecture, followed by a screening of the film, after which an instructor-led discussion will take place.

Class size will be limited to 18.
