Local filmmaker Katie Prentiss is driven to embrace a sense of play when she applies herself to her work. She began her acting career by fulfilling a bucket list item that revealed a latent talent and awoke a deep passion. When she realized how few compelling roles and stories she had access to, she decided to write her own scripts. This led her to directing, and with four short films under her belt, she’s currently in pre-production on her first feature film. She’d be the first to admit that she’s still learning - but that’s exactly what she wants - that’s how Katie Prentiss plays.
In this class, we’ll screen Prentiss’s series of 3 short films, GAMER - written, directed, and co-starring Prentiss - which show through Sam's (our Gamer's) journey how we truly create our own perspective in life- revealing at the same time how Prentiss’ sense of play can be found in the most unlikely of places. Prentiss will elaborate on her career through the Gamer series, revealing her relentlessly positive outlook on the creative process.
This class will be taught by Portland filmmaker & actress Katie Prentiss.
Class size will be limited to 18.
