In 1968, Shirley Chisholm became the first black woman elected to the United States Congress. In 1972, she was the first African American of either gender to seek a major party's presidential nomination, and the first woman to run as a Democrat. CHISHOLM '72 takes a close look at her presidential run, providing interviews with Chisholm and the dedicated individuals who worked on her groundbreaking campaign.
