Queer pride, black lives, women who strike back, and people around the world marching for liberation! Whether the characters are fighting openly for regime change, or going underground to survive a cultural revolution, these stories amplify marginalized voices and inspire one's strength to persist. With beautiful tenderness, they remind us what is most precious: simply getting to live and take care of each other. Through cinematic ritual, mourn together for the dead — and get fired up to fight like hell for the living!

Here's some of what you'll see: A young gay Egyptian recounts trying to protect a pair of boys from being bullied on the street, and then his personal path to joining in organized protests. In a hilarious send-up of cultural imperialism, an upwardly mobile native of India casts off tradition in favor of western ways, gradually turning into a gorilla as he studies the "art of aping." An elderly veteran of World War II recalls her experiences as a pilot with the all-female bombing squad nicknamed the "Night Witches." When an innocent black man is killed by the French police, a community's unbearable grief and anger must finally be expressed. A traveler joins friends in a bar, tells stories of his life in different countries, the people he's loved, and the discovery that all these places have become "home".

Some mature themes.
