Accessibility

As a historical building, the Hollywood Theatre is limited in its ability to meet ADA requirements, though we remain committed to servicing patrons with mobility issues whenever possible. If you have further questions about accessibility issues, please email info@hollywoodtheatre.org.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Our main auditorium is ground level and wheelchair-accessible. However, our two upstairs auditoriums are not. First run films and films with longer runs may alternate between auditoriums, and wheelchair accessibility for individual screenings will be noted as such. In some instances, and with adequate notice, we can modify film scheduling to accommodate access. If you have a request, please email info@hollywoodtheatre.org.

Our restrooms are not currently wheelchair accessible, but Hollywood Theatre patrons are welcome to use the ADA-compliant restrooms at Sizzle Pie, located in the same building as the theatre.

Deaf/Hard of hearing/visual accessibility

We have several methods to accommodate those with hearing or visual impairments, the availability of which varies from film to film.

  • Assistive listening devices for audio enhancement are available from our Box Office for any film (excluding live introductions/music/Q&A portions of a given event).
  • Descriptive audio and personal closed captioning devices are available from our Box Office for most first-run films from major movie studios. Descriptive audio and closed captioning are never available for films shown on 16mm, 35mm, or 70mm film, due to technological incompatibility. These options may or may not be available for smaller, independent films or older films.
  • The Hollywood offers Open Captions screenings of most first-run releases when they are available. Those screenings will be designated as such on the individual showtimes.

Seat Specifications

Our seat cushions are 20″ wide x 19″ deep. Except for the aisle seats, our armrests are not fixed and can be raised. There are about 16″ of space between the end of the seat cushion to the back of the seat immediately in front.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@hollywoodtheatre.org if you have questions about a particular film or screening.
