Please join us for a very special evening of short films created by some of Portland's most daring and adventurous filmmakers as we present the Best of the 2024 Portland 48 Hour Film Project screening and awards ceremony. In September, dozens of teams took the 48 hour challenge - completing a short film in 48 hours, after being assigned a prop, character, line, and genre.
After the screening, we will hold an Academy Award style awards ceremony that recognizes this year's winners in such categories as Best Acting, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and of course Portland's Best Film of 2024. Our winner goes on to represent Portland against more than 100 other 48HFP films from around the world, and our top three films have the chance to go to the Cannes Film Festival. Our 2022 and 2023 winners did make it to Cannes and our fingers are crossed for this year!
Although the Portland 48 Hour Film Project is a competition, it is really more about community and showcasing the region's creativity, so please come out and join us in supporting Portland's homegrown talent. We have been bringing movie magic and mayhem to the beloved Hollywood Theatre for nearly twenty years but this is only our second screening after being forced to shut down during the pandemic. So if you love movies and Portland's unique creative spirit, please join us for this special event.
