Wyrd War Presents!

Alison’s Birthday

Alison’s Birthday
Join Wyrd War for their Ninth Annual Walpurgisnacht Film Festival in celebration of the dark feminine in cinema and shiver in fear on…ALISON'S BIRTHDAY (1981).
During a playful ouija board session with her friends, Australian teen Alison Findlay (played with perfect innocence by Joanne Samuel of MAD MAX fame) receives a dire warning from beyond the grave. Three years later she returns home on the occasion of her nineteenth birthday only to discover a series of terrible family secrets that could change her forever. This slow burning folk horror obscurity from Down Under channels the occult terror of Dario Argento’s SUSPIRIA (1977) and the domestic menace of Roman Polanski’s ROSEMARY’S BABY (1968) as it builds toward a genuinely unsettling supernatural crescendo. What sinister magic awaits Alison behind the ancient hedgerow? There will be cake.
