For our August Cinema Classics, we’re proud to present the 1956 version of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS on 35mm! The screening on August 3rd is free for Hollywood Theatre Members!
INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1956) Almost 70 years after its initial release, Don Siegel’s sly critique of McCarthy era paranoia is still uncomfortably unnerving, and eerily prescient. Kevin McCarthy plays small town doctor Miles Bennell, who discovers that his community is slowly being replaced by alien replicas hatched from pods. An uncontested classic of the horror genre, the film accomplishes its task of scaring audiences by means of clever writing, acting and directing, as opposed to violence or gore.
