Wyrd War Presents!

PUMPKINHEAD in 35mm

PUMPKINHEAD in 35mm
Wyrd War invites you to the resurrection of PUMPKINHEAD (1988) in 35mm this Halloween season! Special effects artist Stan Winston's directorial feature film debut is a wildly entertaining neo-fairy tale about love, loss, and the serpentine demon of vengeance. Lance Henriksen stars as a downhome widowed father who calls upon sinister chthonic forces to exact revenge on a group of young people who kill his son in a dirt bike accident. Once the terrifying personification of his parental rage is conjured by a backwoods witch, all hell breaks loose (just as the poster promises!), and Ed Harley must make a terrible choice. Lavished in stylized indigo lighting that pays homage to midcentury EC horror comics, this underappreciated morality play more than makes up for its simplistic story with spooky graveyard atmospheres and one of the most satisfying practical effects monsters in cinematic history. It is simply the best way to start Halloween weekend! Bring your finest carved pumpkin to the theater at 7pm to enter Wyrd War’s jack-o-lantern contest. Winners will be announced at 7:30pm before the film.
Director: Stan Winston
