Tune your weapons and ride into battle with Wyrd War for the inauguration of their multimedia series MARCH INTO FANTASY!, commemorating ten years as Portland's premiere purveyors of magic, chaos and horror, with a rare big screen presentation of director John Fasano's outrageous direct-to-video Satanic Panic satire ROCK 'N' ROLL NIGHTMARE (1987), with special guest star Jon Mikl Thor in attendance!
Canadian heavy metal band the Tritonz (a winking reference to the dissonant Augmented 4th chord that was banned by medieval churches as the Devil's Note) travel to a secluded farmhouse to party with their significant others and focus on writing new music, but soon realize they are under attack EVIL DEAD style by the strangest prosthetic demons since TROLL (puppets designed by director Fasano himself!). Frustrated that his minions are unable to possess the soul of muscle bound bandleader Thor, Beelzebub himself appears to wage a final battle of Good versus Evil in an unforgettable climax steeped in synthol, hairspray and heavy fog.
Thor will join Dennis Dread on stage after the film for a deep dive into heavy metal and horror cinema history and Thor will be signing memorabilia spanning his 50 year career as the undisputed king of MUSCLE ROCK! Arrive early for Wyrd War's Dungeon Market in the upstairs lobby featuring a dozen of Portland's finest fantasy makers.
