The Sky Crawlers

The Sky Crawlers
A surrean and hypnotic film from the director of Ghost in the Shell, Mamoru Oshii, packed with his stylistic flourishes and unmistakable approach to storytelling!

In a peaceful alternate reality to our own, dogfight battles are organised by private corporations to give the populous the impression of war. They believe that if misery is not on display, people will not understand peace and will not have a way of maintaining it. The pilots for these battles are humanoid clones known as 'Kildren' who remain permanently adolescent until shot down. The Sky Crawlers follows a group of teenage Kildren as they experience daily life and contemplate their purpose between battles.
