When the tiny nation of Freedonia goes bankrupt, a wealthy widow (Margaret Dumont) insists that she will only help save the country from complete financial ruin if Rufus T. Firefly (Groucho Marx) becomes the new president. But the president of a neighboring country wants to take over Freedonia, and sends in his spies, Pinky (Harpo Marx) and Chicolini (Chico Marx), to help overthrow Freedonia's government. Arguably the best Marx Brothers movie, and the last to feature the Four Marx Brothers together, DUCK SOUP descends into brilliant chaos and subversive repartee that is the hallmark of their comedy.
