Girl, Interrupted

Girl, Interrupted
25th anniversary! Based on the memoir of the same name, GIRL, INTERRUPTED (1999) stars Winona Ryder as Susanna Kaysen, an 18-year-old who is admitted to Claymoore Hospital in 1967 after she takes too many pills for "a headache." As she tries to understand who and why she is, Susanna begins to make peace with herself through the help of new friends, including self-described sociopath Lisa (Angelina Jolie, in a stunning, Academy Award-winning performance), and all as the tumult of the '60s comes to a jarring head. Co-starring Brittany Murphy, Clea DuVall, Elisabeth Moss, Angela Bettis, Vanessa Redgrave, Mary Kay Place, and Whoopi Goldberg, GIRL, INTERRUPTED is an under-recognized classic celebrating the young women and stories society locks away.
