Following directly on from the events of Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, VOYAGE HOME sees the crew of the USS Enterprise returning from their exploits on the Genesis planet, only to find the Earth facing destruction from an unknown alien force! Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), acting on analysis from the newly returned to life Spock (Leonard Nimoy), takes his crew back in time to the far off past of 1986 to retrieve the key to saving the Earth of the future: a humpback whale.
