THE FILMS OF SADIE BENNING

THE FILMS OF SADIE BENNING
The Hollywood Theatre is proud to present a very rare theatrical screening of Sadie Benning’s short films!

Sadie Benning began making video works at age 15 using a Fisher-Price PixelVision video. Throughout the ‘90s, they moved between confessional, diarist filmmaking to video collage in lockstep with the riot grrl movement to experimental live-action cartoons. Across these works, Benning explores sexuality, queer identity, class, gender, and belonging with a refreshing intimacy and honesty.

Special thanks to the Video Data Bank.
